Acq. 7 Apr and Commissioned as Hospital Ship14 Apr 1898], the first ever used in naval warfare; retired on own application, after forty years’ service, with the rank of sr. rear-admiral, 1902.[5]

1865, 1869 to 1870, etc.- Naval hospital, Chelsea, Mass.[5]

1863 to 1864 - on St. Lawrence E. Gulf Blockading Squadron.[5]
