1925 - Chairman of the National Crime Commission by President Calvin Coolidge.[6]
1925 - Cover of Time Magazine due to his appointment as Chairman of the National Crime Commission.
1922, 1923, 1924, 1925 and 1926 - Member of the New York State Assembly.
1922 - Father died leaving him $4.5 million.
1920 - Married Dorothy Peabody, the daughter of the headmaster of Groton School.[6]
1918 - Graduated Yale, Skull and Bones Patriarch.[1]
1917 - broke his back in an aircrash.[6]
While at Yale, he anticipated the United States entry into the war [WW1] and organized a group of fellow students to take flying lessons. The group formed the First Yale Aviation Unit, which became the first component of what was to become the United States Naval Air Reserve.[6]
