John Gillespie Magee (S&B 1906)
Ministry. Yale University. Skull and Bones. Freemason (based upon obelisk headstone)
American Episcopal Priest.
Best known for his work in Nanking as a missionary, and for the films and pictures he shot during the Nanking Massacre.[6]
A founder and Vice President, Yale Hope Mission.[2]
1946 - Attended the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal, as a witness of the crimes committed in Nanjing.
1946 to 1953 - Minister to Episcopal Students at Yale and Fellow Jonathan Edwards College.[2]
WW2 - Chairman, International Red Cross, Nanking, China.[2]
13 Dec 1937 to Jan 1938 - Nanjing Massacre (6 weeks). 300,000 men, woman and children are estimated to have been killed without provocation . Atrocities included a large number of woman and children that were raped, tortured and mutilation.[7]
1906 - Graduated Yale, Skull and Bones Patriarch.[1]
Died 9 Sep 1953, from Not Known. Age 68.[4]
