Post WW1 … 24 Sep 1919. Dear Mr Perrin, I have your letter of the 16th instant, and note your view that it might be well to fix highrer rates for loans upon Government obligations than for those growing out of commerical transactions. It will not be necessary to amend the Federal Reserve Act to provide for such higher rates, as it is entirely within the power of the banks to initiate them and of the Federal Reserve Board to approve then. We have decided that it would not be advisable to make any change in rates until after Christmas, and the whole matter will come up for discussion at the conference of Federal Reserve Agents which, as I wired you yesterday, has been called for Wednesday, October 22nd. Yale University. 1879-89. wholesale and retail hardware merchant, Lafayette, Ind.; 1890-1900, vice-pres. Perrin Natl. Bank of Lafayette founded by his father in 1872; 1900, organized American Nat’ Bank of Indianapolis and acted as its president; 1910 the American Natl. and the Fletcher Natl., tw largest banks in Indiana, consolidated as the Fletcher American Natl. Bank, Mr. Perrin becoming Chairman of the Board of directors. Member Yale Alumni Advisory Board, and the Currency Commission of the American Banker’s Assn. American National Bank consolidated with the Fletcher National Bank, the title of the new bank being Fletcher American National Bank.[5]

1900 - Came to Indianapolis and organized the American National Bank. Doors opend Feb 1901.[5]

3rd Oct 1883 - Married Ellenor Bates, the only daughter of Major Hervey Bates , son of Hervey Bates, one of the most prominent and influential families of Indianapolis from the early days.[5]

1980 to 1890 - devoted his entire energies to the Perrin National displaying marked abilities as a financier.[5]

Spent a year in Europe, where he gave attention to the study of currency systems and banking methods.[5]

1879, Graduated Yale, Skull and Bones Patriarch.

Father, James J. Perrin, 1872, converted his private bank into the Indiana National Bank of Lafayette of which he was President until his death.

Died Dec 1931, from Not Known. Age 74.[5]
