During President Cleveland’s first term he declined offers of several positions in the public service, but in 1893 he accepted the office of Postmaster General.[4]
1890 - Louisa Fowler, daughter of Edward and Anna (Fowler) Sturges, of Geneva, N.Y., who survives him with a daughter. A brother graduated fo the Academical Department in 1867.[4]
